Luckily, we have the top 5 tips to help you save money on your bathroom renovations. Let’s dive in!

    1. Don’t Remodel, Just Renovate

For all those curious, yes there is a difference. A remodeling involves changing the structure and layout of a room. Renovating on the other hand involves changing or updating the look of the room. Renovating your bathroom can include updating your tiles, your wall color, your bathroom lighting, and other accessories.

Ultimately, trying to renovate your bathroom as much as possible to bring about a brand new feel to the space without knocking down walls or altering your plumbing lines is much less expensive.

    2. Salvage Old Material

Reusing different material can also be an effective way to cut down on renovation costs. Why purchase brand new material when you can repurpose existing objects to make them feel brand new? Plus, upcycling has become very trendy in the past few years. Show off your creativity and figure out how you can repurpose old tiles, rusted tubs, and damaged cabinets with a little work and repair. Salvaging what you can and only paying for what you absolutely need is an excellent home hack for any project, bathroom renovations included.

    3. See How Paint Can Transform A Space

Do you absolutely need a bathroom renovation or does your bathroom simply need a proper paint job? Yes, the paint on your walls can do wonders in transforming a space. Make your bathroom feel bigger, cleaner, and fresher with a bright, new coat of paint.

Get creative with your paint job by trying sponge painting for a textured effect or using a stencil to create a fun wallpaper design. How do you envision your bathroom looking? Do you want it to be bright and bursting with color? Or modern with black and white tones? A fresh coast of paint can really make all the difference in how you envision your bathroom to look. Once you’ve painted up the place, consider adding accessories that match the colors of your newly painted walls such as colored shower curtains, garbage pails, toothbrush holders, towels, bath mats, and more.

    4. Consider Cheaper Material

You go to your local tile store to look through samples and without fail you end up falling in love with the most expensive options. Every little bit counts and if you’re looking to lower that renovation bill, you’re going to need to consider cheaper material. Different material or finishes can be drastically more expensive than others.

There is nothing wrong with utilizing cheaper material for you renovation. It will not make your space look any worse, but it will help alleviate some of the stress from your wallet. And who doesn’t love that?

    5. Shop at Third-Party Locations

We all love the reassurance of purchasing from name-brand retailers, yet this may also correlate to a huge price markup. If you’re looking to keep your bathroom renovation cost reasonable, you may want to consider shopping with third-party sellers. It’s important to do your proper research on bargains and scams and purchase accordingly. However, you might want to look out for flea markets, yard sales, or antique shops for some great deals on secondhand products for your dream renovation. You never know what helpful bargains you might find.
