The California legislature passed a bill prohibiting local governments from adopting voter ID laws in local elections.  While earlier in the year the City of Huntington Beach approved a voter ID requirement in order to vote in municipal elections beginning in 2026, the state of California does not require identification to vote. The Treasury Department has taken aim at Florida’s new anti-woke banking law, stating that it could allow criminals to use and manipulate the American financial system. On Tuesday, three tropical systems were captured on satellite video swirling in the Pacific Ocean close to Hawaii. Tropical Storm Hone passed by Hawaii on Monday, carrying heavy downpours and flash floods to the Big Island, as well as blackouts and damaged trees.
