When you hear the term “luxury apartment,” what comes to mind? Like most people, you’re probably thinking of expensive fixtures, high-end utilities, and first-class service. Right? Unfortunately, this isn’t the case for Tiktok user Lexie Ferment. She took to the app to share the sad story surrounding her $2k per month “luxury apartment.” In the video, Lexie took us on a tour of the pool area. You guessed right; it wasn’t a sight for sore eyes. The flat hardly met the requirements for a “luxury” badge. Lexie started off the video by saying, “I pay 2,000 dollars a month to…

San Francisco stands at a pivotal moment, contemplating the introduction of reparations for its Black residents. The issue brings to the forefront the city’s need to address the longstanding and deep-seated effects of historical discriminatory policies that have systematically disadvantaged its Black community for decades. Proposed Recommendations Source: Getty Images In an effort to bridge the racial wealth gap, reparations advocates have put forth several bold measures.  One of the most discussed proposals involves granting a substantial lump-sum payment, specifically $5 million, to every eligible Black adult resident in the city. Since April 2023, things haven’t been the same for Anheuser-Busch InBev, parent company of the Bud Light beer brand. It all began with a promotional campaign gone wrong, followed by a mass boycott, and a a monumental dip in revenue. Recently, Wired’s editor, Steven Levy, took an Uber for not even 3 miles to meet Uber’s CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, in downtown New York City. When Levy arrived, Khosrowashahi asked him how much the ride cost, and when Levy told him he paid $51.69, including tip, Khosrowashahi was shocked.  Uber CEO’s exact words were, “Oh my god. Wow,” while Levy noted, “It’s 10 AM on a sunny weekday, and it’s not like the president’s in town.” Levy also informed Khosrowshahi that when he first entered his destination, Uber quoted him an additional $20 that, luckily, he didn’t have to pay.  But…

Campbell, the department’s Assistant Secretary for Administration, the memo became necessary as a result of public safety concerns for employees at the 18-story Nancy Pelosi Federal Building.  Reports have it that Seventh and Mission Street, where the building (which houses the HHS, U.S Departments of Transportation and Labor, and many other federal agencies) is located, has become home to drug addicts and dealers. …

UPS driver Juan Trujillo recently released a video on TikTok that explained exactly what’s going on with UPS drivers and the imminent strike they have planned for September. It’s important to understand that the strike is not to force UPS to raise wages for full-time drivers but for the company’s part-time workers. Recent negotiations with Teamsters, the UPS drivers’ union, already established that full-time drivers will be receiving a much higher hourly wage within the next five years. However, it seems that the part-time workers were left behind during that meeting. In his video, which has received nationwide attention, Trujillo…

Not every tourist visiting a historical site understands its sanctity. In fact, there are museum visitors who have no appreciation for the art pieces on display. Consequently, expensive art pieces have been destroyed due to sheer carelessness and, in some cases, a casual disregard for authority.
