    On Monday at 12:20 PM, Los Angeles felt a significant jolt as a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck just 2 miles southeast of Highland Park. 

    Confirmed by the US Geological Service, this unexpected tremor prompted immediate action from local authorities, disrupting a sunny Southern California day.

    Originally believed to be a 4.7 magnitude quake, the USGS later adjusted the measurement to 4.4 after more detailed analysis. 

    The earthquake originated from a depth of roughly 7.5 miles underground, hinting at its intense jolt felt over a wide area.
