An Incredibly Hot California Summer

A New Heat Wave
California’s hot summer isn’t over yet. The National Weather Service has just warned California — and Southern California in particular — that a new heat wave is headed their way.

According to the service, this new heat wave will cause temperatures to rise around 110 degrees later this week from Wednesday to Friday.
Multiple Excessive Heat Warnings
This new brutal heat wave has already resulted in various excessive heat warnings being issued for the week ahead.

From late Wednesday to at least Friday, much of Southern California will be under excessive heat warnings.
Areas Affected
The Weather Service also explained the areas that will be impacted by this heat wave — and it’s much of the region of Southern California.

“All valleys, mountains, deserts, and inland areas of Los Angeles County, including Downtown Los Angeles” will be affected, according to the National Weather Service.
Hot Temperatures in Downtown Los Angeles
Downtown Los Angeles will also be hit by this severe heat wave.

According to experts, this region will specifically see temperatures in the lower 90s early this week — only for these temperatures to drastically rise up to 100 degrees by the end of the week.
Above Average Temperatures
Weather experts have also explained that this heat wave will result in temperatures being well above average.

KTLA meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said, “The heat is for everybody here in Southern California. When we get to Thursday and Friday, we’re 15 degrees above the average … This is just day after day after day of heat.”
A New Threat for Fires
California has struggled to deal with various raging wildfires this summer, as hot temperatures and high winds have fueled blazes.
