After 72 years in business, Yelloh! has decided to close their doors for good.
In Operation since 1952
Yelloh! has been one of the nation’s top quick-to-table frozen food delivery services for over 70 years. However, overwhelming business challenges have forced the famed company to shut down operations.
“The current Yelloh team has worked hard against external headwinds such as the nationwide staffing challenges and crushing food supply chain disruption caused by the pandemic.”
Official Statement from Yelloh!
Michael Ziebell, board member at Yelloh! explained how the shift in consumer behaviors has impacted the company’s bottom line: “Digital shopping has replaced the personal, at-the-door customer interaction that was the hallmark of the company.”
Sadly, a total of 176 employees were impacted by the layoffs following the company shut down, though the company will continue to compensate them through November 22, 2024.
The Yelloh! shutdown is but one example of a highly concerning trend in the food and restaurant industry. Bankruptcy filings are at an all-time high and businesses across various industries are struggling to manage rising business costs and changing consumer behaviors in a difficult economy.
